William GC Brown (b.1994, London) is a figurative painter based in Stroud.
​His academic background in psychology, and continuing interest in the mind, are a recurring influence on his work. Whilst earlier paintings dealt with the topic of perception by piecing together multiple observations in painted collages, his recent work draws from a range of media sources, daydreams and memories to present glimpses of narratives; inspired by free association and poetic logic, these paintings touch upon universal themes embedded in the human experience, inviting the viewer to intuit their deeper meanings. ​
