William GC Brown (b.1994, London) is a figurative painter based in Stroud. His academic background in Psychology, and continuing interest in the mind, is a recurring influence in his work. Whilst earlier paintings deal with the topic of perception by piecing together multiple observations in painted collages, his recent work intuitively draws from a range of media sources and memories to present glimpses of narratives; inspired by free association and poetic logic, the images produced are emotionally charged and open to interpretation. These paintings touch upon universal themes embedded in the human experience, inviting the viewer to intuit their deeper meanings.
